The Blessing of Musicians

For over a week now, the Lord has been speaking to me about the importance of Pastors and Leaders anointing their musicians. As we know David was a musician, who played the harp. David was so good at playing the harp the bible says, “Whenever the evil spirit from God bothered Saul, David would play his harp. Saul would relax and feel better, and the evil spirit would go away.” (1 Samuel 16:23). How many times have you attended a service and the musicians played a song that ministered to you? How many times have you attended a service and the musicians played a song that restored your joy, and released a spirit of heaviness off you? Musicians are not only gifted to play, but they are also anointed to set the tone, usher in the presence of God, and minister through the power of music. I have been in services where musicians ushered in the presence of God, that Preachers were not even able to preach.

Other scriptures that talk about musicians in the Bible are 1 Chronicles 25:7 that says, “288 together with their relatives who were all trained and skillful in music for the Lord.” Another scripture is found in Psalms 40:3a when David says, “He put a new song in my mouth a hymn of praise to our God.”

For those of you who have musicians within your ministry please hear me, this is the season of blessing for your musicians, and it is important in this season to anoint their head and their hands. It doesn't matter what instrument they play; God is pouring out His spirit on His musicians in this season. Maybe you have a new ministry, or your ministry is going through a transition, and you're saying Minister Carenda, I don't have a musician to anoint. Well, this is a great time to pray pray pray and trust God that by faith, He will send you that skilled individual in music that is tailor made for the ministry that God has given you.

I was hesitant at first to announce this, but I know that I heard clearly from the Lord, and I pray that Pastors and Leaders who read this monthly manna will not delay blessing their musicians with the anointing of oil. I truly have a deep appreciation not only for their gift, but their commitment to serve. Many of us who now watch service virtually, not so for your musicians, they must show up. Many of us that choose not to go to multiple services, not so for your musicians, they must be there. Not only has God gifted them with an amazing skill and talent, but you also must acknowledge their commitment to serve. You must appreciate their dedication to glorify God through music.

I pray that as you anoint your musicians in this season that they will be strengthened by the Lord! I pray they will lack no good thing, and that they will have a renewed fresh fire to stay the course. It is also my prayer that whatever the needs they have for their families will be met with heaven's best. That the Lord will give them new songs, and a fresh sound that will be an opening door for people to draw closer to God.

Music not only is a great stress reliever, but the sound of music, by God’s anointed, can be life changing. I don't know about you, but I do believe this is a great time, and a divine hour to bless, anoint and celebrate your musicians that labor in love for the edification of the body of Christ. If there are musicians in your ministry that are going through health battles, by faith, I believe that by anointing them with oil they will have testimony of healing and deliverance. If there are musicians in your church that are going through financial hardships, I believe that by anointing them with oil in this season, by faith, there will be testimony of financial breakthrough. If there are musicians in your church or ministry that have been through some tragic incidents or situations in their lives, I believe that by anointing them with oil in this season, by faith, their story will change. That our God of possibilities will turn their impossibilities around.

I anticipate testimonies because God has released His word, and it will not return void. Your musicians are a blessing, and they are a gift from God. Anoint them! In Jesus Name-Amen!
